Etched in Time - The Most Amazing Etch-A-Sketch Artwork In The World

Those of us who grew up in 80s, also grew up with not nearly as much enterainment as kids get today. We got hundreds of cartoons, very little video games, Big Wheels, Slinkys, the Rubix Cube, and a fancy drawing toy, called The Etch-A-Sketch. We spent countless hours attempting to draw pictures of our friends, or our family, our cat, or our dog, our house or our school, but we got nothing more then a few straight lines of very strange looking objects.(or at least I did)

Some people however, have been able to come up with some very amazing artwork with this very enjoyable, but sometimes complicated two knob device. One of which is George Vlosich III from Etched In Time. Here is a small snippet from George’s website:

George not only does these creations for fun, but he does in fact offer the option of creating them made to order, starting at mere minimum $7,500. Due to the sheer amount of time and effort he puts into his work, he can charge these absorbanant prices. He has already done quite a few celebrities, like I’ve displayed below.

Agreed, I’ve seen his work for a while, but just decided to finally write about it today and I was still completely blown away by how amazing some of this stuff is.

I hobbled together an Elmo on my daughter’s Etch-A-Sketch once. I thought it was pretty good; she recognized him. Now I realize how poor it really was :) Good find List.

I don’t think I’ve ever hobbled together anything that looks like anything on an Etch-A-Sketch Greg. You’ve got me beat.

George is really something! But he’s not the only one who creates on an Etch. See etcha.net for other examples

Wow, that is some incredible stuff as well Etcha. Didn’t realize there was such a following to the Sketch.

I shouldn’t have looked at this post. I don’t think I even want to touch a pencil from now on.
