Google And Firefox Working Together To Build Upon “Offline” Browsing

Everybody is always looking forward to what both Google and/or Firefox has in store for us, each and every time they make an announcement that they’ve come up with some new innovative product. Well, this time around their teaming up for what is the future of browsing.(at least until WI-FI is everywhere) Recently Google announced that they’re Google RSS Reader is compatible with Google Gears for offline browsing. What this allows us to do is surf through our hundreds of RSS feeds without the need of your everyday internet connection. Google is not only hoping to apply this to just their RSS reader, but their GMail, Maps and possibly the rest of their online applications as well. To make life easier for them, they are teaming up with Firefox 3 developers to make it quick and easy for today’s everyday web surfer, by integrating all of these offline capabilities right into the browser.

Currently expected for a year end 2007 release, Firefox 3 is expected to be another major overhaul to the now overwhelmly popular browser. In addition to the offline browsing capability, Firefox is expected to address the memory issues that seem to bog down many systems, along with enhanced bookmarking/history, to improve upon what seems to be a very difficult task of synchronizing bookmarks across multiple PCs.

Fixing the memory issues will be very welcomed. Maybe it’s just me, but Firefox 2.0.0. whatever seems to crash on me a lot more than it’s predecessor. I mean, the more complex something becomes usually the more unstable so it’s understandable, and despite this, it’s still the most kicka$$ browser out there!

Firefox is a great browser and reducing memory issues will be welcome, especially by those using old PCs. All the Firefox 3.0 features I’ve seen are really cool, so I expect that most people will use a standard compliant browser finally.

As long as they don’t change it drastically. I think it runs really really well right now and I love everything they’ve added in version 2. The spell checker is far and away the best thing ever created for a browser.

Firefox is my favorite browser. I’d love to see its development progress and will stick to it. I see after google lunch their offline RSS browser, now, they begin to make browsing offline too! Nice move!

Now it’s Google and FireFox against Microsoft! The logo looks very good. I’m looking forward to the FireFox 3 release.

Thanks for commenting. I did some hunting for that logo. I thought it was a perfect match for this post.
