Searching The Web From ANY Application
I’ve been searching for this one for a long time. Not particularly for my home PC, but for work purposes. It’s called Transfz(I know strange name), and what it essentially does, is it allows you to search any search engine by simply highlighting any text that can be highlighted. It works very similar to Firefox’s SearchWith Extension, but can be used in ANY application that you can highlight text with. Here’s a screenshot as an example:

When GHacks posted this last week, along with several of his other posts, I now realize why it’s such an incredible blog.

Transfz has more features, but I really like using ClipX. It is mostly a clipboard manager but it can also navigate to URLs that you’re copied in memory with a hotkey and also search Google. The reason I would recommend it over Transfz though is that it is lightweight uses very little memory. Usually less than 1MB.
