Text URLs to Links with Linkification
One of the many annoyances with browsers still haunting users everyday, is the fact that once and a great while, links are marked up properly and links are clickable, such as in forums or comments. The Firefox Add-On “Linkification” saves us with their handy extension. Below is a screenshot of it in action on TinyURL.com. It’s green icon is in the lower right:

TinyURL is a bad example for Linkification, but is a good example for a site you may want to add to the Linkification “Blacklist”, blocking it from linking on the site, because most times you’ll want to copy and paste their links.
Here is a full description of it’s use from Yellow5’s Linkification Blog Post
Linkification converts text links into genuine, clickable links.
This Firefox extension contains many options, all of which are accessible by (1) right-clicking the status bar icon, or (2) clicking “Tools->Addons/Extensions” and double-clicking the Linkification entry.
If you are experiencing an issue which cannot be resolved using the options menu, or have any comments or suggestions, please contact me through my message board. For bug reports, include your Linkification version, Firefox version, any javascript console errors, and the URL of the webpage in question. Thanks for your help!
For testing purposes, I have compiled a fairly exhaustive list of test cases. Linkification should recognize each of these, unless otherwise marked.

*scratching head* I’m very confused. So what would I use this thing for?

Aren’t there cases where you go to a particular site and a link is just plain text and NOT a link? Many forums won’t automatically make URLs clickable.
